Christmas Events for Shopping Centres

We would like to present our Christmas event proposals for shopping and leisure centres.

Christmas Events in Shopping Centres

We focus on highly innovative technological experiences. At the same time, we want customers to feel like an essential part of the Christmas celebrations. Our goal is for them to take part, get involved and experience the magic first-hand. In other words, we are not looking for passive visitors, but for people who become part of the story.

All of these Christmas events are designed to create excitement, increase footfall and strengthen brand recall within the shopping centre. Thanks to this approach, every visit becomes an experience.

Christmas Online: Video Call with Father Christmas or the Three Wise Men (Interactive Christmas Events)

At this time of year, Father Christmas and the Three Wise Men are very busy. Even so, they always make time to speak to every child. This year, the appointment will take place via live video call; this way, we will see the character at home or in their workshop, working flat out but delighted to dedicate a few minutes.

The system works in a completely “touchless” way. For example, the child connects with the character through a 75” screen and directional speakers. In addition, one support character is required, and the shopping centre must provide a small enclosed space for the main character and their Christmas decoration.
Finally, the activity includes special image and sound effects, making it a 100% safe Christmas experience. This format fits perfectly within the Christmas events most in demand among families.

Magical Christmas Letterbox: A Classic Christmas Event

In the “Magical Letterbox”, each child can send their letter to Father Christmas or the Three Wise Men in a very special way. As soon as they place the letter in the letterbox, they will see on screen how the message flies up into the sky, leaves a trail of stardust and travels straight to its recipient.

At that very moment, a short video is activated. In this video, the character appears collecting the child’s letter. In addition, we have five different mini stories so the experience changes with each visit. This makes this Christmas event highly repeatable and encourages return visits.

Christmas Super Gifts: Elf Workshop
Christmas event for younger children

In this Christmas activity, Father Christmas or the Wise Man — with the set design adapted accordingly — has a very clear mission: to ask the youngest children to help the elves in their workshop.

The workshop measures approximately 6 m x 3 m. Inside, children use an integrated screen and a touchless system to wrap presents for children all over the world. They then choose the present, box and wrapping paper they like best. This way, the virtual gift is ready to be sent. In short, it is a dynamic, highly visual Christmas activity, perfect for shopping centres and ideal for those looking for Christmas events with active participation.

Interactive Christmas Story: Experience a Story from Within

Why is this format one of the most immersive Christmas events?

This Christmas event offers a live and immersive storytelling experience. The mural measures around 5 metres in length, although it can be adapted if required. When visitors stand on the footprints marked on the floor, the experience begins without the need to touch anything. Everything works through sensors.

First, visitors will hear the narrator’s voice. Then, each footprint tells a different part of the story. At the same time, the narration is coordinated with special effects:

In total, there will be up to 10 different image, sound and sensory effects. As a result, the story is experienced “from within”. This type of concept strengthens the emotional impact and memorability of Christmas events.

The Magical Christmas Maze: Game + Craft Activity

A gamified journey within Christmas events.

In this special maze, Father Christmas or the Wise Man sets a challenge. After handing over their letter and speaking to him, each participant is invited to enter the Magical Maze and enjoy a different kind of experience. The aim is to complete several challenges before reaching the final workshop.

Different areas will appear along the route:

  • A chest that opens “by itself” and holds a key element for the workshop.
  • A specially decorated photo area, including a mirror with a hat for souvenir selfies.
  • A Simon-style colour sequence game controlled with the feet. Once completed, participants receive another item needed for the activity.
  • The workshop area, where the craft activity is finally completed.

Each part of the maze is lit in a different colour and there is also background music throughout the route. This creates the perfect Christmas activity for a family shopping centre looking for fun and memorable Christmas events.

The Christmas Sweet Factory: A Complete Experience

One of the most complete Christmas events.

This Christmas experience has five stages. It is one of the most complete activities within our Christmas events for shopping centres.

1. Letter delivery. First, the children hand their letter to Father Christmas or the Wise Man and speak to him.

2. Starting up the factory. Next, through a simple contactless colour-matching game, they activate the Christmas Sweet Factory.

3. Product selection. On a 65” screen, six different windows appear. Using Leap Motion technology, the child chooses which sweet they want to create: cookies, candy canes, coloured coal sweets, and more.

4. Production. Then, on another 65” screen, also using Leap Motion, they mix the ingredients to make their sweet.

5. Sweet collection. Finally, the product “appears” through the delivery ramp. Each child takes their sweet home.

All sweets come individually factory-packed and are gluten-free. In addition, the entire process works with sensors, so there is no physical contact with the product or the ingredients. As a result, it is a safe and hygienic Christmas activity, ideal for families looking for safe Christmas events.

The 1,000 Wishes Tree: A Participatory Experience

Christmas events that drive footfall to the tree.

With this activation, we aim to encourage customers to interact with one of the great symbols of Christmas in the shopping centre: the tree. The experience has two parts.

Part 1: Making a wish. First, the visitor approaches the shopping centre’s official tree and scans a QR code. The system then asks them to make a wish. When they press “Send Wish”, a very bright LED strip travels up the tree from bottom to top. The light reaches the star at the top, which is actually a monitor that lights up with an explosion of colour, confirming that the wish has arrived. The whole experience is accompanied by sound effects.

Part 2: Mobile message and prize draw. Next, the customer receives a message from the “tree” on their mobile phone. The tree thanks them for their wish and invites them to take part in a prize draw, with prizes awarded over the following 60 minutes. To enter, they must leave their email address and collect the prize on the same day.

In this way, the Christmas event increases dwell time in the shopping centre and drives footfall to the main tree.

The Elves’ Workshop: Activity by Age Group

Christmas Events for All Ages

With this Christmas workshop, we want both children and adults to help the elves “build Christmas”. To achieve this, we use three screens, each designed for a specific age group:

  • Screen 1: children aged 4 to 8.
  • Screen 2: children aged 8 to 14.
  • Screen 3: ages 14 and over.

Using motion sensors, each player must assemble the character assigned to them at random: Father Christmas, one of the Three Wise Men, a snowman, a Christmas tree, etc. On screen, a conveyor belt appears with pieces from different characters, so they must select only the correct parts.

The level of difficulty changes depending on age. This ensures the game is fun, fast and dynamic for everyone. This approach makes it one of the most inclusive Christmas events.

Photocall: “This Christmas, You Are the Gift”

Personalised souvenir within Christmas events

We also want each visitor to take away a special memory of this Christmas season. Under the slogan “This Christmas, you are the gift”, each person can step inside a giant gift box and have their photo taken.

The box is open at the front and on one side, making it comfortable and safe to use. Inside, there is a simple lighting system that allows the light colours to be changed, so each photo can have a different style. Having support staff is recommended, although not essential. This photocall is one of the Christmas events most frequently shared on social media.

Interactive Christmas Ball: Instant Prize

Christmas events with instant incentives.

On our interactive wall, each customer throws a ball. They can then watch it roll down and see which prize they have won.

Inside each compartment there are small balls with different prizes. After collecting one, the customer opens it and reads the paper to discover their gift. In addition, the design is fully customisable with the shopping centre’s branding. This makes the Christmas activation highly visual and perfect for energising the space and reinforcing Christmas events with instant rewards.

Magic Christmas Photo Booth

Photo with your favourite character: another of our star Christmas events.

In this Christmas-themed photo booth, visitors take a very special picture. In the final image, their favourite character (Father Christmas or one of the Three Wise Men) magically appears. Although the character is not physically present, they are included in the final photo.

The image can be sent by email or shared on social media. It can also be printed on the spot, creating an immediate keepsake within the shopping centre’s Christmas events.

Gift Chain: Christmas Promotional Activation

Christmas events that encourage participation among customers.

In several areas of the shopping centre, we place stars with a QR code. When the customer scans the QR code with their mobile phone, they access a digital Christmas tree with several gift boxes.

First, the customer selects one of the boxes. Then they are informed that, in order to discover the prize and redeem it, they must invite another person. The second person must also scan the QR code. Only when the second participant joins does the first customer find out their prize and can collect it at the shopping centre information point.

Thanks to this collaborative mechanic, footfall increases and excitement is generated across different areas of the centre. This type of dynamic turns a simple promotion into one of the most viral Christmas events within the shopping centre itself.

The Magic Christmas Mirror

Immediate rewards within Christmas events.

Everyone likes receiving gifts, especially at Christmas. “The Magic Mirror” turns that idea into an instant game.

With a purchase receipt, the customer stands in front of the mirror. The screen then shows which prize they have won. In addition, the activation can be programmed according to the quantity and frequency of prizes to be distributed. As a result, this Christmas event drives direct traffic to the redemption point and enhances the perceived value of Christmas events.

Christmas Ball Game

Christmas events with high footfall.

Ball Game” is a Christmas activation that generates high footfall in the shopping centre. The game is backlit, very easy to run, and usually a great success.

The design can be adapted to any time of year. However, it works especially well as a Christmas game. In addition, it allows full control over prize distribution, which is very useful for managing the promotional budget. For all these reasons, it has become one of the Christmas events with the best return on investment.

Personalised Christmas Videos

Unique messages within Christmas events.

For this proposal, we create a carefully designed and magical environment. Our actor, dressed as Father Christmas or one of the Three Wise Men, wishes each child a very special and fully personalised festive greeting.

In the video, the character calls the child by their name, congratulates them on what they have done well during the year, and sends them a special message. In addition, the shopping centre’s logo appears at the beginning and at the end. It is also visible throughout the recording as a watermark. For all these reasons, this is a highly emotional Christmas activation, very easy to share and perfect for reinforcing the shopping centre’s Christmas events.

Christmas shows in the shopping centre.

Live shows as part of Christmas events.

To complete the campaign, we offer Christmas shows for all ages. We feature musicians, stilt walkers, singers and other professional performers with original and highly visual acts. This programme is ideal for creating a festive atmosphere in the shopping centre at Christmas and also helps to extend customer dwell time. In short, these are Christmas events that fill the walkways and create a festive atmosphere throughout the entire venue.
